Business as Usual.
A short surreal comedy film, written by filmmakers Brianna Williams (Director) & Henry Wolff (DoP), BaU follows a business retreat gone awry, and the choice between dedicating oneself to working, or to living.
Creating this film was a very meaningful process, as one of the graduate films I worked on at the end of my filmmaking degree- I hope you find my short ‘making of’ documentary below as enjoyable to watch as I found nostalgic to edit.
Birdcage
Birdcage, directed by filmmaker Alicia Oku, is a powerful exploration of colourism & institutionalised racism in a post apocalyptic, science-fiction setting; two brothers try to survive in a dystopian landscape, where machines once created to curb the spread of a virus now hunt the remnants of humanity.
For this production, I was the head of department for production design; operating on a limited budget, I’m exceptionally proud of what we created, designing and building sci-fi equipment, post apocalyptic costumes, and the hand-made shack the brothers live in.
Squirrels are boring
A heart-warming short film two young scouts reconciling their differences amidst emotional turmoil; the first short film I wrote and directed whilst at University, and one I am very proud of.
The uniqueness of this learning experience lay in the number of first time challenges we, as a team, faced; working with young actors, new kit, weather issues. All in all, the team pulled through together to create something that, even several years later, I am still proud of.
